Make your own oat milk

Make your own oat milk

Making oat milk at home is quite simple and requires only a few ingredients. Here's how to make oat milk at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by rinsing the rolled oats under running water in a fine-mesh sieve, then drain them.
  2. In a blender, combine the oats, water, sweetener (if using), and salt (if using). Blend on high speed for about 30-60 seconds or until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  3. Using a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, strain the oat milk into a bowl or pitcher to remove any remaining solids. Squeeze the bag or cloth to extract as much milk as possible.
  4. Transfer the oat milk to a sealable container and refrigerate for up to 5 days.

You can also adjust the sweetness or thickness of the oat milk to your preference by adding more or less water or sweetener. Enjoy your homemade oat milk in smoothies, coffee, cereal, or as a dairy-free alternative in any recipe that calls for milk.
